Project Polls
Ask the Project a question, see named responses, and keep open and closed decisions easy to find.
Keep decisions out of the chat scroll
Use Polls to coordinate a practice date, check gig availability, decide whether to learn a song, choose between alternatives or discuss another tryout. A named response makes it easier to follow up with the right people.
In Project Messages, All includes Poll cards alongside chat; Polls shows Open Polls and Closed Polls separately; Chat hides Poll cards. Within each Polls group, the newest questions appear at the bottom, matching All. Use Load more open polls or Load more closed polls above the cards to find earlier decisions.
Create a Poll
Any active Project member can create a Poll. The form opens as a side drawer on larger screens and a full-screen sheet on small screens.
- Open the Project’s Messages and select + Create Poll.
- Enter Question, up to 300 characters of plain text.
- Enter 2–6 distinct, nonblank Options, up to 100 characters each. Use + Add option for another choice; Remove is available for options after the first two.
- Select Create Poll. The Polls view opens with the new decision. If creation fails, the form keeps your entries for retry. Cancel or Close Create Poll leaves without posting.
Vote or change your response
Select one option on an Open Poll to save your vote. Your selected choice is highlighted and marked. Select another option to change your vote while the Poll is open; there is no separate Change vote button or multi-select voting.
Voting is for the active members included when the Poll was created. Members who join afterward cannot see that earlier Poll. Leaving or rejoining does not carry an old membership’s vote eligibility into a new one.
Read named results
Polls are not anonymous. The response list shows each option’s count and the names who selected it. Your name is shown as You. No response lists eligible people who have not chosen yet, so you know who still needs to reply.
The progress area shows responses out of eligible members and the overall response percentage. On small screens, expand View responses to see names without making every Poll tall. Closed Polls also show the vote count and percentage for each option.
While a Poll is open, eligible totals reflect the original participants who are still active in that membership. Earlier membership responses may be shown separately and excluded from totals. Closing freezes the final participation result; later Project departures do not recalculate that closed decision.
Close a decision
The Poll creator or a current Project Owner/Admin can select Close Poll and confirm. Closed Polls no longer accept votes or changes, but the question and results remain visible to members with access to that history.
A closed Poll shows who closed it and when. There is no reopen, question-edit or option-edit control; create a new Poll if the question needs to change.
Delete a Poll
The Poll author or a current Project Owner/Admin can delete an open or closed Poll. Other members cannot delete it. Select Delete Poll, review the confirmation, then select Delete Poll again to permanently remove the question, options and votes. Cancel keeps the Poll.
Deletion cannot be undone. The Poll disappears from All and Polls, and the Open/Closed counts update for connected members without refreshing. Counts show loaded Polls; a plus sign means more history is available.
Live updates, privacy and notifications
Results update for connected Project members as votes are submitted. Refresh messages reloads the current information if your connection has been interrupted.
Polls stay inside the Project. Publishing a Project profile or Event does not make questions, response names or results public.
Creating, voting on or closing a Poll does not create an unread chat message or an unread-message email reminder. Polls currently have no Link to selector for a Practice, Event or Song, and results do not automatically create or change schedules or repertoire. Use the relevant Project tool after the team decides.
